Active Talks Tech at the 2019 MPI Tech Summit

- contributed by Brad Gibson, Director of Marketing and Business Development, Active Production and Design.

On March 20th, 2019 the Georgia Chapter of MPI held their Tech Summit at The Garage, a tech-driven and innovative venue located near Georgia Institute of Technology. This annual event sees event professionals from Georgia and beyond, attending to learn about technical strategies and innovations that relate to the meeting, planning, and event discipline. Active has had the privilege of being involved in this terrific event for several years and this year Matt Clouser, Active President, was given the opportunity to speak during their round of "Tech Talks" where he discussed Audiovisual Strategies for Event Professionals. This included strategies for building an RFP, working with in-house audiovisual vendors, choosing an audiovisual vendor, and cost-effective techniques that can deliver a "wow" at events and meetings. The event was completely sold out and the audience was engaged with the content presented by the speakers.

The audience listens as speakers educate them on several tech strategies that relate to the meeting and events industry.

After the "Tech Talk" presentations, guests were able to break into smaller groups to get a more in-depth discussion with the speaker of their choice, and Active's President Matt Clouser met with a group who asked relevant questions about the challenges of audiovisual production in the meetings and events industry. Matt was able to answer and address their concerns and offer insights from the perspective of the audiovisual industry, while remaining transparent and objective about how to maximize their dollars when working with production and audiovisual vendors.

Active President Matt Clouser goes in depth with a more individualized Q&A in this casual environment.

As if the day couldn't be more packed, MPI raised the bar, quite literally, with a reception that included interactive tech elements from Virtual Reality demonstrations (one station provided by Active!), custom coffee foam printing by Ground Rule Coffee Co, huge photo mosaics by Button It Up, innovative 360 degree photos by Shutterbooth, and app demonstrations all while food and drink were served by a plethora of fantastic MPI sponsors.
